Rediscovering my love for Linux thanks to Claude

I started using Linux when I was in my early teenage years once I had my first personal computer.

It all started by me seeing one video showing cool Beryl effects on YouTube. I was instantly in love and I nuked my Windows OS and rushed to install Ubuntu, without knowing much.

I loved the customizability that Linux offered and I spent years trying out all the distros, and discovering amazing Linux games such as Tremulous.

One problem though: Linux was (and is) amazing, as long as you have time to invest in it. Everything is possible, but sometimes even the simplest things, like connecting a Bluetooth device, can become challenging. We're talking about the pre-LLM era, every small problem required you to go through forums / information-dense documentation pages to understand the solution. At a certain point, you feel burned out and the customizability isn't worth it anymore.

But this has changed now. I've been running CachyOS with Hyprland on my desktop PC for a while (fed up with in-your-face Microsoft ads within my operating system) and it's been so refreshing. I run Claude, pi, opencode and other agents on demand to help with any kind of issue and customization and they do an amazing job. In just a few hours I built a rock solid system, customized to my needs - which now also can run graphics-heavy video games as fast as Windows! The era of the Linux desktop is finally coming?
